The police have launched a manhunt after another Alexandra taxi boss was shot and killed by a group of unknown men at the gate of his home on the morning of 23 July.
Isaac Serete, who was a member of Alexandra Randburg Midrand Sandton Taxi Association (Armsta) and National Taxi Alliance, was shot 32 times when he was leaving his house in Tsutsumani Extension 8.
The police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said, “We’re continuing to investigate and we have launched a manhunt for the suspects. We don’t have any leads but he was shot several times and he died inside his vehicle.”
The killing of Serete comes two weeks after Armsta chairperson, Sam Budzwa and another of the association’s members Fani Ramantshwana were shot and killed in Marlboro.
Armsta public relations officer, John Mnisi said the association’s leadership would meet with the Serete family and will announce a memorial service and funeral arrangements in due course.
Armsta taxi owner shot dead in Tsutsumani
A taxi owner of the Alexandra, Randburg, Midrand and Sandton (Armsta) Taxi Association has been shot dead.
According to witnesses at the scene, he was shot by a number of unknown men, who waited for him to reverse out of his yard in Tsutsumani before firing shots.
More than 30 bullets were found at the scene. It is unknown how many bullet wounds he sustained in the process.
The drivers’ death comes less than two weeks after an Armsta taxi boss was gunned down on 12 July.
