It’s going to be a tough second leg semi-final of the Map Games for De Grandiose and the Mighty Birds after the two evenly matched sides played to a goalless draw in the first leg at the Rotary Grounds.

The match will be played at the Alexandra Stadium on 21 July and the final the following day at the same venue.

Both Grandiose and the Birds were evenly matched in all departments in the first semi and action swung from one end to the other with neither team finding that elusive opening goal.

It was the Birds that had the clearest scoring opportunity but with De Grandiose’s keeper beaten, Birds’ central marksman ballooned the ball over the crossbar.

Alex outfit, De Grandiose had beaten Chego FC in the quarter-finals while the Birds, a Ladysmith team but mainly made up of players from Newcastle, beat The Rock FC to advance to the semis.
