Thuggery, pent up anger, frustrations and other anti-social conduct have come out of hibernation, leaving many Alex residents maimed and robbed of their personal possessions.

This according to Alex Police Station spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang when he pleaded with residents to be considerate of others’ personal rights.

Kodisang said contact crimes and assaults were high in the week from 28 August to 3 September with 26 arrests made for common assault and assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm.

A total of 27 reports were investigated for common assault and nine for assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm. Seven reports were for gun-related robberies and 14 for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
