Police officers remove illegal firearm from youth while on routine patrol in Alexandra


A youngster was sentenced for the possession of an illegal firearm in Alexandra.

Police officers on a routine patrol in Alex stopped Vincent Sikhosana, who was walking with a companion and asked to search him. They found a gun, with its serial number filed off, loaded with six bullets.

Sikhosana, in his early 20s, was found guilty of firearm and ammunition possession and sentenced by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court to five years in prison after admitting to the offence.
