Liqour delivery crew allegedly assaulted and robbed in Alex

Two crew members of a truck delivering liquor at a shop were allegedly assaulted by two armed suspects.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said the victims were then robbed of their cellphones valued at R2 400 and wallets containing R900 and R600.

The suspects approached them at 5.45pm on 9 June after delivering a consignment at a 5th Avenue outlet. They demanded money collected from the deliveries. When the victims told them that payments for the orders were paid into the company’s account, the suspects assaulted them before disappearing.

The incident is under investigation.

Details: Alex Police Station 011 430 7718/9.
